February 14, 2006:
HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
Well I planned on updating the site again last month after starting work, but life has been crazy.  We have gone through so much sickness ever since I started work and I just haven't
had time to do anything.  I had strep, ear infections, a sinus infection, fever, stomach flu, etc.  Mia is getting teeth and her molars (both bottom and top!) so she has had little colds as
a result.  She also has been fighting a rash the last couple of days.  Daddy is just getting over the stomach flu also.  Ugh.
Other than being sick, going back to work has been a-okay.  It was a difficult change for me to not spend as much time with Mia, but Mia adjusted well to the change. She and daddy
have spent a lot of time together and they have really developed a special bond.  It is so sweet to watch the two of them together.  We also hired a great nanny- Nanny Jane- who has
been coming to our house to watch Mia when we both work.  She is a nice grandmother who does a great job of caring for Mia and helps with the laundry!  We feel very lucky to have
found her.
Grandpa Mike and Grandma Gail visited us this past week.  We had a nice, relaxing time.  Didn't do anything except hang out due to illnesses.  Other than hosting these wonderful
visitors, we really have not done a lot since I started back to work last month.  Daddy recently built a big, beautiful pond in our backyard and Mia loves feeding the fish and the putting
bird seed out for the birds.  She is also into collecting rocks.   A few nights ago, Mia fell and bit her lip.  She had a bruised and cut fat lip- blood too- ouch!  She is fine now!
Mia is growing leaps and bounds.  She is talking up a storm which is so much fun.  She says a lot of words... car, coral, tree, cheese, fish, quack, Stella, no, yes, moon, wet, and
more.  She will also say a word perfectly once and then we never hear it again.  Mia definitely let's us know what she wants and doesn't want.  She is  a lover and enjoys giving hugs,
kisses, and head-butts.   We are growing her bangs out, but she doesn't like barrettes so she often has hair hanging in her face!  She loves brushing her teeth.  Mia's latest favorite
movie is Madagascar.  She loves to roar like a lion.  When she eats food that she likes, she says "mmmmmmm" and after she takes a drink of water she says "ahhhhh".   We have
quite the funny girl!  Her latest favorite foods are my homemade banana muffins, brown rice with peas and beef, and ginger snap cookies.  Of course, she still loves her favs- peanut
butter toast and cottage cheese.  She also loves Valentine's Day chocolate!  Mia has had fun lately dressing up in hats, jewelry, and ballerina tutus.  I am including some recent
photos of our lovebug below.

I'm Home!
