January 8, 2006:
Last week was a tough one for little miss Mia.  She had her 15 month check-up which consisted of 4 immunization shots and lots of blood being drawn for a complete blood work-up.  Mia
had a strong reaction to the shots and ran a fever of 103 for two days.  We felt so sorry for her.  She didn't sleep or eat much and really just rolled around and whined the whole time.  She
got lots of TLC, as well as Tylenol and Motrin.  She is now feeling much better, but is a little crabby due to the cutting of two back teeth.  Once these are through, she will have a total of 6
teeth on top and 4 on the bottom.  Mia continues to grow so much.  We did find out that Mia does have Beta-thalassemia- which we already suspected.
We did visit the Parrot Jungle last week in Miami.   Mia loves birds so she had a fantastic time.  There was a small petting farm which she enjoyed.  Mia loves to suck her thumb when she
feels soft things so she chased the goats around with her thumb in her mouth- it was comical!
Today I took her to the daycare that she will be attending.  The woman that was going to come into our house to care for her cannot do it now.   Luckily, I had reserved a spot at a daycare for
Mia.  We are going to visit it every day this week and then daddy will visit with her next week.  She will spend her first day there all alone in a few weeks.  I go back to teaching next week.  It
has been really stressful thinking about going back to work so I pray that it will all work out with the daycare.  I will post more in a couple of weeks.  Until then... bye!

drawn and my shots have been given to me.
Ouch!
I chased and chased those goats and I
finally caught one by the tail!

miserable.
Right:  I feel so much better now!

I'm Home!
