October 9...
Leave Hong Kong for Nanning, Guangxi- Mia's province!
Good morning!  Jon and I slept quite well last night and are feeling pretty good.  We are going to have breakfast at the hotel in a few minutes- a large
buffet with everything from scrambled eggs to chicken congee.  After breakfast, it is off to the airport for another flight!  We leave at 1:55 to fly to
Guangxi, Mia's province.  One step closer!  The unofficial rumor yesterday was that we might even get the girls this evening- I don't think that will
happen, but it would be wonderful if it did.  We will try to post this evening from Nanning once we are settled into our hotel.  Tomorrow is the big day
that we have been waiting for... luckily we slept pretty well last night because I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight!  Please email us when you get a
chance- it seems that our email is working.  Talk to you all tonight!  XO!

Well we made it to Nanning.  The flight was about an hour and not bad at all.  We do miss Hong Kong already and were sorry to leave.  It is a great city
and we wish that we could have spent more time exploring.  However, Mia is calling our name!  Nanning was beautiful from the plane- lots of rolling
green hills, rice fields, and limestone outcroppings.  The ride from the airport into the city showed us some very rural areas that reminded me of Egypt
in parts.  The city of Nanning is quite big though!
We had dinner with much of our group at the hotel's "western" restaurant.  I had road kill on a plate and Jon had some very peppery noodles.  I think
that we will be eating all of our power bars this week!  After dinner, Jon and I decided to get massages.  We got a 45 minute massage for 98 yuen
which is about $12.  I thought it was very painful and interesting, but Jon loved it.  Needless to say, it was an experience.  I think Jon will get another, but
I will have to see how I feel tomorrow.  Ouch!
Our plan for the big day tomorrow is to fill out paperwork in the morning and then go to Walmart- hopefully we can find some food and other goodies.
Around 3:30 in the afternoon, we go to the Lottery Hotel to get our little girl!  Michael, our CCAI guide, gave us some updated information on Mia today.
We learned that she loves to drink sweet water (water with sugar) and her nickname is "Mo Mo".  She speaks Cantonese so the few words we
learned in Mandarin will not be helpful.  Michael is going to teach us some Cantonese words tomorrow.  Michael also gave us a stroller to use and
some formula and rice cereal.  I am attaching a picture of Mia's crib which is set up right next to Mommy's bed.  Jon is already in bed so I am going to
sign off for now.  We will have lots of photos and news to post tomorrow so stay tuned!
