Today we made our adoption of Mia official!  We had an interview with a Chinese official this morning.  She asked us some questions about our marriage and
income.  We then had to tell the official that we were happy with Mia and we had to promise to take care of her forever.  After our interview, we traveled to the
Lottery Hotel where we got Mia yesterday.  There all of the families took an oath and we then exchanged gifts with the orphanage director.  She gave us a photo
album containing photos of Mia as a baby.  It is priceless.  We also received the two disposable cameras that we had sent in our care packages to Mia and are
having them developed today.  We should have a nice assortment of photos from Mia's life as a baby.  In addition to the oath, we had to put Mia's footprint on
some official documents. Thus, the red foot photo below.  We also received an adoption certificate which we will get to keep.
Let's talk about Mia... right now she is napping with daddy in bed.  She slept from 9:30 until about 4 a.m. this morning.  I brought her into bed with Jon and I and
she slept for another hour with us.  She woke up kind of cranky- we think she has an ear infection or is teething.  I gave her some Tylenol which helped.  A doctor
is coming to the hotel this evening to examine the babies so I am going to have him look in Mia's ears.  I think I will start her on the American antibiotics tonight if
there is any question.  Our CCAI rep., Michael, brought Mia a birthday cake.  She played with it, but we will be celebrating her first birthday once we are home!
Mia has been eating well.  She even took her first poo today- a mighty big one!  Daddy thought it was so funny to see her making silly faces while doing the deed.
We continue to marvel at Mia.  She is doing so well and runs all over the place.  Her personality is so beautiful and she is really attaching to her mommy and
daddy already.  We are so in love.
Over the next few days we are free to explore and shop while we wait for Mia's paperwork to be completed.  Tomorrow we are going to a mall to buy squeaky
shoes and other trinkets.  On Saturday morning, we fly to Guangzhou to finish all of the American paperwork.  And then we leave on Thursday.  We are anxious
to get home and get Mia settled into her new life.  The trip has been wonderful so far and the people in our group are just fantastic.
When the babes wake up, we are going to take a walk around the lake by the hotel.  We're going to try and use the stroller for the first time.  This morning, we
tried the baby carrier, but Mia wanted nothing to do with it.  Maybe tomorrow.  Signing off for now.  Keep the emails coming... they are so wonderful to receive.  I
am sorry we cannot email back, but at least we have been able to update this site!  Hugs and kisses to all.
